Attention: Mr. Tom Williard,

                 Editor of DEAFWEEKLY

This is to acknowledge the receipt of your yesterday’s e-mail message, in which you asked me to respond to Ms. Ammons’ answers such as,

“No, there is no truth to it,”

“No, it is absolutely untrue.”

Because of Ms. Ammons’ continued autocratic and backward conduct of business in the CISS ( that is, her policy of information secrecy, concealment and cover up in spite of our dwelling in this contemporary, fast moving and swift-information-exchange-release communication world ), let me present you the following facts.

Firstly, let me challenge Ms. Ammons’ above statements.

Namely, it is my position that USA still owes money to the CISS for 1) its failure to pay  the CISS Constitution Rule 7.1.2–required 10%  Membership dues non-payment penalty fee since April 1, 2000 and to this day;  2) its failure to pay $10,000.00 plus interest for withdrawing of its two teams  from the 2003 Deaf World Tennis Championships, and 3) for its 6 athletes’ non-participation at the recent 2004 Deaf World Wrestling Championships.

Because Ms. Ammons gave you a brief and vaguely-worded answer on this subject, I am recommending you to contact  Ole Artmann, the CISS Treasurer  ( artmann@ciss.org ) and Ms. Bobbie Beth Scoggins, the USADSF President ( bobbiebeth@aol.com ) and ask them appropriate questions.

Secondly, I would advise you or anyone to review  www.2005deaflympics.com

by clicking section such as, NEW! SPORT SPECIFIC INFORMATION.

According to a reliable CISS Home Office document ( “CISS” ) and December 17, 2004  www.2005deaflympic.com website report ( “website report” )  there was and still is the following data on six different sports.

Water Polo.

Before December 1, 2004, the CISS reported that the following 6  nations were expecting to compete at the 2005 Games: USA, Hungary, Italy, Australia, Germany and Ireland.

Now, according to the December 17, 2004 website report, these 5 nations, except Ireland, will participate at the Games.

Thus, there is one ( 1 ) withdrawing team – Ireland.

Handball

Before  December 1, 2004, the CISS reported that the following 7 nations were expecting to compete at the 2005 Games: Brazil, Germany, Serbia, Croatia, Chinese Taipei, Denmark and USA.

Now, according to the December 17, 2004 website report, these five nations, except Brazil and Serbia, will participate at the Games.

Thus, there are the two ( 2 )  withdrawing teams  – Brazil and Serbia.

Women’s Football

Before  December 1, 2004, the CISS reported that the following  9  nations were expecting to compete at the 2005 Games: Denmark, Great Britain, Brazil, USA, Sweden, Australia, Portugal, Russia and Norway.

Before December 1, 2004, the CISS reported that the following 14 nations were expecting to compete at the 2005 Games –Australia, Iran, Ghana, Finland, Italy, USA, Brazil, Fiji, Ukraine, Japan, Turkey, Russia Germany and Argentina.

Now, according to the December 17, 2004 website report, these 13 nations, except Brazil, will participate at the Games.

Women’s Volleyball

Now, according to the December 17, 2004 website report, these 7 nations, except the two – Brazil and Ghana, will participate at the Games.

Thus, there are the two ( 2 ) withdrawing teams – Brazil and Ghana.

Men’s Beach Volleyball

Before  December 1, 2004, the CISS reported that the following 13 nations were expecting to compete at the 2005 Games: Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Italy, Switzerland, USA, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Finland, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Now, according to the December 17, 2004 website report, these 7 nations, except Argentina, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Canada and Finland, will participate at the Games.

Women’s Beach Volleyball

Before  December 1, 2004, the CISS reported that the following 11 nations were expecting to compete at the 2005 Games: Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland and USA.

Men’s Basketball

Before  December 1, 2004,the CISS reported that  the following 15 nations were expecting to compete at the 2005 Games: Australia, Greece, Ukraine, Russia, USA, Italy, Germany, Japan, Ghana, Slovenia, China, New Zealand, Lithuania, Turkey and Israel.

Now, according to the December 17, 2004 website report and another reliable source, these 13 nations, except Germany and Israel, will participate at the Games.

The website report, however, mentions Israel as a participating nation, but I received information from one reliable source that Israel will send a 13-member delegation of athletes and officials ( this does not include the basketball  team ) to the Games.

Thus, there are the two ( 2 ) withdrawing teams – Germany and Israel.

Women’s Basketball

Before  December 1, 2004, the CISS reported that  the following 10 nations were expecting to compete at the 2005 Games: Australia, Sweden, China, Ukraine, Greece, USA, Lithuania, Ireland, New Zealand and Japan.

Now, according to the December 17, 2004 website report, these 9 nations, except Ireland, will participate at the Games.

Thus, there is one ( 1 ) withdrawing team – Ireland.

Overall, there are 21 withdrawing teams from 14 different countries now.
