The item in Deafweekly Aug. 3 headed Deaflympics Database ... was brought to my attention. I believe you are a fair person so I would appreciate it if you would go to www.deaflympics.com then click on the Games tab and pick any Games (prior to 1977) and then click on participants. Read the disclaimer and then decide whether or not the article which you gave wide circulation was worthy.

I'm doing this task all by myself. We had two choices: keep the database under wraps until completed or open it to the public so they could view the progress. We chose the latter path since I figure it is going to take a bit more than two years to do it. I sure wish Mr. Pinchas could have supplied us with 985 corrections. That would have been greatly appreciated.

This is my rebuttal response to Jerald Jordan’s comments made in last week’s issue

of DEAFWEEKLY( see Reader Response, August 10, 2005, Volume 1 No.43 ).

Who will be willing to cooperate with this guy ( i. e., Jerald Jordan ) by supplying him with 985 corrections when he was himself engaged in an unpleasant and provocative scheme to call the police and secret service agents to arrest this Ombudsman during this Ombudsman’s visits to the venues of the CISS/Deaflympics Congresses on February 26 and 27, 2003 in Sundsvall, Sweden, and on January 3, 2005 in Melbourne, Australia?

“Would have that been greatly appreciated” by anyone?

Moreover, since his so-called retirement from the CISS as its president in 1995 and by instantly getting the title of the CISS Honorary Member for Life, Jordan has, in self-interest and to the huge detriment of deaf sports, been till today meddling in the affairs of the CISS/Deaflympics organization by stagnating and tarnishing its work in many different ways

Namely and randomly, in order to continue to retain his power and influence in the organization – albeit, in a covert manner – and by acting as the “behind-the-scenes” senior advisor to the next two CISS/Deaflympics Presidents – the now-deceased Lovett and current Ammons – his cronies and future would-be anarchists, Jordan as the self-appointed member of the CISS/.Deaflympics Legal Commission, was the one who, among the other things, allowed his own USA DEAF SPORTS FEDERATION ( USADSF ) to defy various rules in the CISS/Deaflympics’ legal system; these massive rule violations still enabled the USA teams to participate at the Deaflympic Games in 2001, 2003 and 2005 illegitimately ( to this minute, the USADSF has failed to fully and responsible met its financial obligations before the CISS/Deaflympics organization ), and

2) Jordan was the prime architect of the recently-concluded 39^th CISS/Deaflympics Congress Executive Committee election fraud in which 151 (! ) votes were missing or went unaccounted

In addition, in his own Reader Response Jordan admits that he is doing the database “task all by himself.”

Who or what has obligated him, “a so-called CISS/Deaflympics retiree” since 1995, to get involved not only with the CISS/Deaflympics Legal Commission affairs but also with the database project in spite of his Honorary Life Member status, his lack of legal education as well as his still inadequate knowledge of the history of the CISS/Deaflympics?

Do not we have in this big and modern world young, educated and energetic deaf people who could cope with the CISS/Deaflympics Legal Commission and database project duties ably, honestly and competently?

P.S. Regarding the ongoing database project, in which Jordan is still in charge. There are the two new historical inaccuracies which may cause anyone to ridicule Jordan’s continued and irresponsible work with the database project ( see evidence below ).

In the 13^th Deaflympic Summer Games, Bucharest, Romania column, Jordan lists the year of birth of one participant from Belgium – Hersteyns Josephine – as 2028. How could that participant born in the year of 2028 compete at the Deaflympics held in 1977 in Romania?

On the other questionable subject, in the 9^th Deaflympic Winter Games, Meribel, France, column, Jordan placed Wyss Peter as a participant for the nation of Sweden. Naturally, it was a grand fallacy done by Jordan! Did not he know that Peter Wyss was a Deaflympics gold medal winner in alpine skiing and that he was coming from the nation of Switzerland ( not Sweden ), did he?
